#1712 - Full time Permanent Chef - Monday to Friday - Hampstead, London - Live Out - to start ASAP

An incredibly exciting opportunity for a professional, experienced, passionate chef, with a strong focus on plant based cuisine, to start a dynamic role in a creative environment – catering for both UHNW individuals, members of their family and guests, and cooking for the wider staff team and events. Based in a beautiful home style kitchen in Hampstead.

The candidate must be calm, robust, well rounded, have at least 5-10 years chef experience and should have rosette/noted restaurant experience plus private household experience.

You should be capable of cooking for small and large numbers (between 1-40 people). You will work in a team and on your own at times, and should be comfortable with both scenarios.

A strong knowledge/passion of vegan/vegetarian food required. The chef must, however, be able to cook all cuisines and handle/cook with meat/fish on occasions.

You will be working within an educational foundation. An interest/passion in wellness, meditation and clean living is preferable to fit in with the entire environment.

The chef should love working with the best organic produce, love cooking seasonally, sourcing excellent ingredients from farms and have a passion for this.

You will be working under the guidance of the Executive Chef – but must have the ability to manage yourself, and sometimes a small team. You must be able to handle all situations alone when the Executive chef is not there.

Food should be beautifully executed, refined, elegant and beautifully presented. A very high standard is required at all times – Ottolenghi style modern dishes but with flair. A really creative and passionate approach to food is essential. There are so many different opportunities with this role, including working with some top chefs.

Responsibilities will include food ordering, kitchen management, menu planning (along with the Executive Head Chef) and providing food as required.

An average work week would be doing Breakfast for the Principal when they are in residence, then staff lunches for 5-10 people (occasions this will be higher, approx. once a month). Standard hours tend to be Monday – Friday 8am – 4/5pm, however flexibility in this role is essential, as there will be some weekend and evening work expected. You will never be over worked or burnt out and you will never be left to handle everything alone. There is a strong team in place, and you will be well supported but need to have strong enough chef experience to succeed in this position.

This is a live out position, and you must be within a 45 minute commute to Hampstead. There may be occasional travel to the Hampshire property during summer months.
