#1616 - Live in Temp Housekeeper required - to start ASAP for a couple of months - near Newbury

A lovely UHNW family who treat their staff exceptionally well are looking to appoint a temporary well-presented Assistant Housekeeper to join their well-established team. It is essential that this candidate is enthusiastic, happy to learn and follow instruction, but able to learn quickly and work efficiently and get on well as part of a team. It is important the candidate would be happy to work weekends.

The Assistant Housekeeper will be supporting the Head Housekeeper and Daily Housekeeper with a wide range of housekeeping and laundry tasks involved with the day to day running of the house. You will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the home while delivering excellent service to the family and their guests.

A good knowledge, or willingness to learn about, of cleaning products and how to care for furniture and surfaces with high-end finishes, as well as being proficient in all laundry care, are essential for this role.

An excellent eye for detail, friendly and approachable manner, yet boundaried and discreet are a must.

Working 5 days per week, including weekends and bank holidays, you will have two consecutive days off during the week. Working an 8-10 hour day with a mixture of straight and split shifts so flexibility in your work is essential. There will be occasional weekends off wherever possible, but you absolutely must be happy to work weekends as these are the busiest times in the home. Hours tend to be 8am-4.30pm or 10am-7.30pm (with a longer break in the middle) and if there is an event on, then you would do a split shift.

Due to the Semi-rural location of the property a driving license and car, plus a love for country pursuits, are a must, as well as being pet and child friendly.

The accommodation provided is a private 1-bedroom furnished cottage on the Estate - all bills covered, apart from TV licence. The accommodation is not suitable for couples/children, but a well behaved dog may be considered.

Yachting experience a bonus but not essential. It is not entirely essential for the candidate to have had previous private household experience, or worked in a position like this before, but it is really important the candidate can pick things up quickly, loves working in a service role, is willing to please, happy to take instruction and guidance, but also able to work independently and quickly when required. This is a large, busy country Private Estate and it is important the candidate understands how these houses work.

Well behaved dogs would be considered in the property. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Housekeeper to start their career in the Private Household world.
