A cook is required for a beautiful rural Estate in Dumfries and Galloway. Accommodation available, pets considered. The role is to cook family meals (core family of 4, plus guests), dinner party food as well as preparing food (cakes etc) for a small tea-room as they open the gardens to the public during the summer. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the main household, liaising directly with the family. Lovely, modern style food and a keen baker that loves making beautiful well presented cakes is preferred.

The job may suit a newly trained cook, or someone looking to gain more experience in working in private homes/rural Estates, but you must be able to work using your own initiative. It really is a fabulous opportunity and we have sent cooks here for many years. The cook must be a self motivated, positive person, who really enjoys rural living and is happy to work in a team with local staff, being friendly and courteous to everyone.

The candidate will need to be a driver with a car because of the rural location.

It is most likely the cook will work a 5 day week, will include weekends over the busy summer.
