A live out, experienced Groundsperson is required for a private household near Chipping Norton. Must live locally and have a car. Days and Hours: Monday, Friday (a must) and one other day (Tuesday or Thursday). 8.30am - 4.30pm with a break for lunch of one hour. Seasonal flexibility will be required in terms of working hours in the garden. Potential of more hours in the summer, and less in the winter depending on weather conditions.

You will be joining a small, friendly team and must have relevant recent experience. We are looking for a hard working, practical individual who is happy to work as part of a team but is also self motivated and can work alone. Experience in the use of garden machinery is essential.

This position is for three days a week (Monday, Friday and one other day ideally Tuesday or Thursday), with the potential for extra work at peak times. The successful candidate will work under the Owner, Head Gardener & House Keepers and the duties will include lawn maintenance, hedge care including trimming, planting and watering, pond and swimming pool maintenance, maintaining the meadows, woodlands and tennis court, keeping the fire wood for the house well stocked. He/she will be required to help the house staff, garden team at times and the owner eg cleaning cars, bikes etc.

The garden consists of parterres, herbaceous borders, topiary, formal lawns , meadows, an orchard, vegetable garden, cutting garden, historical ponds, a tennis court and a swimming pool.

Full clean driving licence and own car to get there is essential.

Chainsaw and spray licence desirable.

This is a self employed position, and the candidate must be reliable and able to commit to the client. You must have at least You put have at least two contactable references (happy to take a telephone call about you and the work you did for them). Previous private household experience preferred. A good flexible approach to work and tasks/hours is important in a private household.
