Live in Couple required for large 10 bedroom property near Winchester, Hampshire.
A multi generational family are looking for a live in couple to maintain a large property in a village near to Winchester, which they visit on an ad hoc basis – mainly during the summer months and one 14 year old daughter comes home from boarding school for some weekends. She will need to be cared for, cooked for and laundry done. For longer holidays she goes back to the principal family home in America. The property should be kept presentable and guest ready at all times.
One part of the couple to be Housekeeper/Cook, and the other part to be maintenance/driver/gardening. A cottage on the property can be provided free of bills/rent.
When the family are not in residence, duties will include day to day cleaning and upkeep of the inside and exterior of the property, overseeing contractors and building projects, maintaining the gardens (mowing, hedge trimming, vegetable garden, watering, planting, weeding), grocery shopping, ensuring the house is kept to the highest of standards and guest ready at all times. The couple must have experience working in large properties, and should be used to working to high standards. Any maintenance issues need to be dealt with. This couple will be the eyes and ears of the property. When the family are not in residence, the days of work can be Monday to Friday. When the family are in residence, the couple need to be available for the days they are in residence, including weekends. There will be busier and quieter times. The family range in age from small babies up to 70 year olds, so the couple need to be flexible and adaptable and happy working in a busy loud environment when the family are in residence.
When the family are in residence, they will require day to day cooking, laundry, daily cleaning, bed making, ironing, grocery shopping, flower arrangements, internal designs (such as Christmas tree up, flowers etc), tidying around the house, serving of food and drink, assisting with packing and unpacking, airport/train runs (One part of the couple should ideally drive), outside assistance keeping up with the garden and making sure everything is tidy and organised. Occasional visits may be last minute, so the couple need to be flexible and ready for their arrival, making sure the house is presentable at all times.
An honest, trustworthy and conscientious, fit and able couple would best suit this role, with lots of energy to maintain a large property (Which includes a swimming pool and tennis court in the grounds).
The couple should be dog friendly, as there is a family dog kept at the property that will be the responsibility of the couple. Salary will be dependent on experience and expectations.
