A permanent, full time, live out Housekeeper is required to join a small household team consisting of Head Butler, Under Butler, three Housekeepers and kitchen staff based in a large private home in the Cotswolds, near Stow on the Wold. Working Monday to Friday, with VERY occasional weekends.

Housekeeper duties include:

upkeep of rooms to exceptional standards
conservation-grade dusting and care of expensive items
all-round laundry care
room refreshes and turndowns
assistance with everyday dining and drinks service
care of outbuildings, pool house area, storage buildings, extensive garages and stores
stock ordering and rotation
working well in a team with all staff members is essential

Housekeeping staff are expected to report any defects within the house (anything from paint chips to defective equipment) to the Head Butler and to consistently ensure an established standard of excellence. Previous private household experience is not essential, but the willingness to learn, follow high standards, take instruction and enjoy working in a service role is essential. It is also important you have the ability to be able to be discreet and professional at all times.

Hours of work: When principals are out of residence: Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm When principas are in residence: The principals are in residence approximately 4 months of the year, often for several weeks at a time, but sometimes a week at a time. During these stays, housekeepers work one of two shifts: 8am-4.30pm and 1pm-9pm Monday to Friday, with very occasional weekend work required.

Due to the rural location, applicants should have a full driving licence and use of a vehicle. This position requires any successful candidate to present a DBS check before commencement of the role.
