A permanent, live out, private chef is required for a family based in Kensington, London. The chef must be prepared to travel with the clients for up to 6 weeks at a time to their other homes in America and Switzerland.
It is important the chef is experienced and able to cope with various dietary requirements and has a passion for wellbeing and healthy cooking. The cook must be able to cook healthy plant based meals, cook fish well, and cook meat well for the meat eaters of the family. The cook must be experienced in cooking gluten free, low sugar food as well.
The chef must be friendly and approachable, and able to get on with the clients and the staff in the house. They must be organised and tidy, and last minute changes or requests / new diet requirements should not worry them. It is important that the chef is able to cook similar dishes for the clients but adapt to each member of the families tastes with similar dishes. The kitchen in the house is open plan, and it is important the chef is happy to be part of the household with discretion where required.
The main family consists of 2 adults and 3 older children (youngest is 16).
It is important you are able to present your food beautifully and formally on individual plates. The job is primarily based in London and is a Monday to Friday position with the hours of approx 10am - 8pm (lunch by 1pm and dinner by 6.30/7pm). It would be great if the chef as well as preparing lunch and dinner, could also produce some healthy low sugar snacks (eg veg and dip or healthy cake) and/or healthy muffins/waffles that they can use for Breakfast.
For the travel, the hours are likely to be longer as the family will entertain more, and the chef must be capable to cook for up to 40 guests at times (with additional help provided). Last minute requests and additional numbers should not worry the chef. It is essential you are willing to work over Christmas/New Year period.
The chef must be able to drive and be happy to drive 4x4s when travelling. The chef will be in charge of keeping the kitchen organised and tidy in all residences, keeping control of stock and being careful not to waste too much food.
Their current chef has been with the family for over 6 years, and the clients are looking for someone to stay for a similar length of time, as they do not want to keep changing chefs. It is important the chef is the right fit for the family (and vice versa) so the client will trial only candidates that they think are suitable.
If you are interested in the position, please could you send through your CV to email@example.com along with photos of your food (this is really important), and menus based on primarily healthy gluten free plant and fish based dishes that are seasonal.
