A permanent private chef is required for a large private house near Canterbury, Kent. The previous chef was with the family for 5 years.
This is a live in position working Thursday - Monday (Tuesday and Wednesday off). 28 days holiday a year and payment is through a company payroll. You must be competent and efficient, with excellent knowledge of food and able to present your food well. It is also important you are able to cater for different requests and diets. Fresh organic home cooking, Mediterranean / italian / french , healthy , lots of salads and homemade soups, sourdough pizza cooked in woodfired pizza oven, bbqs outside on dining terrace, locally sourced ingredients, focus on sharing dishes ( family dining), Sunday roasts, puddings and cakes.
You must be flexible and willing to help in other areas where required when not busy in the kitchen. It is important that you are happy to work in a large private home with other members of staff.
You will be answering direct to the client and will be primarily responsible for shopping, keeping kitchen clean and organised, all cooking and catering requirements. When numbers are small you will also be expected to serve the food to the table.
Accommodation is provided in the house. The accommodation is not suitable for a couple or a family. The accommodation is situated on same level as kitchen (all lower ground floor- 100% private to chef and the housekeeper) . Chef has private living room with TV and feature fireplace (refurbishing & repainting August 2019). Separate private bedroom. Bathroom (with bath) accessed via laundry room on lower ground floor is predominantly private. This job would be best suited to a single individual who is looking to excel in their career as a private chef. You must be a driver and have your own car.
