Private Chef for family home is required for a family in Notting Hill. To start as soon as possible, but the client is happy to wait for the right fit, that is very important.
Monday to Friday 9.30am to 7pm. Any additional hours worked (eg for the odd dinner party and when travelling is paid as overtime).
Breakfast for 3 year old and breakfast for husband (he has a poached egg)
Lunch for 3 year old around 12
Lunch for house staff (2-4 people)
Lunch sometimes for the husband
Supper for 4 children around 5pm
Supper for husband and wife
The husband works from home, some days may need tea/coffee serving or sandwiches etc made. They may occasionally have a dinner party, but will discuss this with the chef and if able to do will compensate the hours with overtime or time off in lieu.
The family consists of husband and wife and 4 children (ages 3,6,7 &9). The chef will also be required to do some light housekeeping and so must be flexible and happy to do this: Would be keeping the floor where the kitchen is tidy and clean. On this floor is a kitchen, living room and reception room. Kitchen would need to be kept tidy after the family, rooms hoovered and dusted. There is a full time cleaner but she may occasionally need help with folding sheets, making bed etc.
The chef does not need to drive. The client tends to order in food or the butcher/fishmonger is walking distance from the house. There are other staff including a permanent house manager, house keeper, operations manager. The chef is to live out. Chef needs to be an experienced cook, on the ball and be able to jump at last minute requests. They need to be efficient with food in the fridge and make up meals with any left overs of food near to their sell by date (avoiding waste). Need to be motivated to produce meal plans, and inventory of foods required. The family are Swedish and like to eat healthy as a family. But happy to have the odd pork belly meal etc. The husband does not eat shellfish. All the other staff in the house muck in and help each other out where needed and this chef needs to have the same attitude.
Travel: This would mainly be to Sweden and it would be a total of 5-6 weeks per year. This would consist of 3-4 weeks in the summer and one in the Autumn, and one week in May. The chef may not always be required to travel but should be aware of it and must be flexible to travel when required. Overtime is paid for extra hours.
Salary paid through a payroll - £40,000 with statutory holiday allowance.
