A successful business providing ready made meals for busy people with production kitchens based in Acton are looking for a new Kitchen Manager/chef for the team.
This is a Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (33 days a year!) position and a brilliant opportunity for someone that is looking to join a busy, growing business.
You will be responsible for cooking the recipes which are set (there will also be opportunity for you to introduce ideas and recipes) and a great deal of consistency and attention to detail is required. They produce food at a high volume and so the cook must be quick and prepared to produce a lot of dishes each day. The kitchen is constantly producing stock for the freezer as they offer a next day delivery service.
They offer a wide variety of meals ranging from comforting family favourites to vegan, gluten & dairy free options, and they offer meal plans to run alongside workout programs and a selection of low calorie meals. The meals are popular with new mothers, busy professionals, families with lots of mouths to feed and those that want to eat well without compromising on quality when they don’t have the time to cook.
The best ingredients are delivered from the markets each day and they cook and freeze the meals on the day they are delivered locking in the freshness, flavour & nutrients. The recipes are set in stone and need to be worked to very accurately but they are always developing new ideas which you can get involved in. For the right person, this is an incredibly exciting opportunity to ‘get in early’ and help build the brand helping with recipe development and new ideas as well as running the kitchen on a day to day basis under the co-founder. The company are looking to build their wholesale business so the kitchen will be getting busier by the day.
The right person must have a love of food and be willing to work hard in a small team. The role will be predominantly cooking and managing a kitchen assistant, but as a small business they bounce ideas off each other all the time, they are evolving and have lots of new ideas for the future.
You should have a good level of culinary training, ideally had experience in commercial kitchens, and be ready to settle into a permanent position with a successful growing business.
