Permanent Event Manager/Operations Couple required - Stranraer, Scotland

A permanent, live in, couple is required for a beautiful Estate near Stranraer, Scotland which is rented out for events. 

It has been newly renovated inside and you would be offered a lovely, newly done apartment within the property. Currently the owners have been running the events, but they are now ready to hand it over to a responsible couple who will take charge to run everything.

You will be first point of contact for the guests, selling the venue, then once booked you will liaise with guests about everything - all the event plans, logistics, timings, dietary requirements etc. You must be computer literate and happy to work in an office for the organisation side of things.

You will also need to oversee the staff so one, or both of you, should be excellent managers and able to manage staff well. Other requirements include overseeing maintenance, and making sure it gets done, dealing with clients when they arrive and attending to all their needs. At least one member of the couple must drive.

You must have had some previous hospitality or event manager experience, but it is also essential that you have lots of initiative and get up and go, and plenty of enthusiasm to improve set ups and make changes where appropriate to improve the service offered to the guests.

Guests are attending the venue for weddings and other celebrations. The castle sleeps up to 36, and there is a full team of staff including cleaners, chefs etc. The couple will be overseeing everything and making sure that everyone is doing their job correctly and that standards are being met.

Events tend to happen over the weekend and during winter months (Jan - March) the property is not available to the public.

A generous package circa £48,000 for the couple to share - no bills and accommodation all provided.
