To start January 2019 - A fabulous opportunity to join a small, thriving family run business in Chelsea. Working Monday - Friday, day time hours, with one Saturday a month.
This is a very busy, popular deli with an outside catering arm and you should be a keen, enthusiastic junior chef happy to work in a busy commercial style kitchen. You should be a quick learner, speedy, able to work well in a team and really want to commit to a permanent role in a fabulous company in which there is room to grow.
Ideally you should have some experience working in commercial kitchens, but newly trained cooks will be considered - but you must have done a catering course.
You will be cooking a variety of dishes - salads, soups, quiches, meat based dishes, and in large quantities. You should be a creative and confident cook - making a cake or salad on your own in a commercial kitchen should not faze you. The company also offer an outside catering business which you can get involved in when additional staff are required (additional hourly rate paid for working evenings at catering events).
It is a great experience to work in a fun team, learn more about working in a speedy kitchen environment, cooking fresh, and good quality food. It is really important you are happy to muck in with everything and that you also would not mind going to the shop front and serving customers when there is a lack of front of house staff. Team players, hard workers and smiley, welcoming people are very important to the business, which has an excellent reputation.
Salary: Generous permanent salary with good perks. Salary will depend on previous experience.
Hours: 7.30am - 4.30pm weekdays, 9am-5pm on Saturdays. Holiday allowance: 25 days, runs Jan-Dec and cannot be carried over to the next year. Holiday can’t be taken within December or June.
