Chefs & Hosts required - Luxury Chalet Company in Meribel - December 2017 - May 2018

We are looking for 2 competent chefs and 3 chalet hosts for two luxury chalets in Meribel Village for the 2017/2018 winter season. There is the option of having a couple in one chalet (chef and host).

As an individual, to fit in with this company, you should be discreet, have an excellent work ethic, have a professional work/life balance, take the job seriously, be able to follow instruction from the company manager, able to cope in tricky situations with demanding clients, have a happy disposition and be a team player (able to muck in whenever needed).

You do not need to have done a ski season before, but it does help if you are familiar with chalet work. As the chef you should have some previous restaurant/catering company experience and will be asked to do a cook test in London or Bristol prior to being offered a position. You should be creative and have a modern approach to food presentation - plated 4 course evening dinners are required plus canapes. Meals cooked by the chef will include Breakfast, lunch (cold meats/cheese/bread to be available to guests in the chalet), afternoon tea and 3/4 course dinners plus canapes. You should be able to adapt your menus to cater for different dietary requirements and have an enormous passion for food and sourcing the best ingredients, whilst sticking to a budget.

As a host, your main duties will be cleaning, laying tables, serving and clearing at meal times and helping the guests with any special requests or requirements. You should be immaculately presented, have a good eye for detail and enjoy working in a luxury chalet offering the best service possible.

Salary in the region of £1120 per month for chefs, and £480-600 per month for hosts PLUS generous tips each week, 3 valley ski pass and ski hire, accommodation in lovely shared apartments close to the chalets. All with wifi.

You must drive and be willing to drive the company vehicle to shops etc.

The guests in the chalets are fantastic and the chef we placed with this company last year was offered two private chef jobs from clients through working with them. It is a great starting point if you have been working in restaurants and want to get into the world of private cheffing. Alternatively, if you are bored in your job and fancy a change for the winter, then this is a super opportunity.
