An experienced, flexible, and passionate pastry chef is required to join forces with an entrepreneur who has recently taken over the running of an already established bakery supplier to restaurants, hotels and shops around London.
The owner is looking for a head chef to take over the running of the kitchen (based near Herne Hill in London) who will work hard to help transform the business from something that is currently quite stale and old fashioned to becoming more modern day and relevant.
This is a really exciting opportunity for someone with experience in pastry (this is really important) and who has the maturity to manage staff in a kitchen. Perhaps you are someone that has dreamed of having your own business but are not able to afford to set up kitchens and would like to help someone that has it all there.
Your main duties will be recipe development, training staff, cooking products, recipe testing, budget control, stock control, processes and cooking procedures.
Initially this would be a Monday-Friday day time hours role and is PERMANENT (but do expect early mornings as with all bakeries), but potentially the kitchen may open at weekends depending on client demand. As and when this happens they will look to adding to their already large kitchen staff team.
The owner is looking to expand their client base and create more exciting products around London. Currently they produce pork pies, sausage rolls, mince pies, meat pies, quiches and cakes.
Someone with creativity and a flair for baking is important.
